First Coast Women’s Services opened its doors to clients in June of 1993 after the Ashauer family, having walked alongside their daughter through an unplanned pregnancy, felt the call to fill the need for pregnancy help services in the First Coast community.
Since then, FCWS has now grown to six Centers and a Call Center with support from churches, donors, and volunteers all across Northeast Florida. We provide a full range of pregnancy help services including telehealth screenings, pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, options education, pregnancy and parenting education, male mentorship, adoption assistance, and post-abortion healing assistance, all free of charge.
First Coast Women’s Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that empowers women to make informed choices about their pregnancy. Our purpose is to prevent the tragedy of abortion by offering truthful education, emotional support, and practical assistance to individuals who are facing unplanned pregnancies. We present sexual abstinence as a positive lifestyle for singles and provide opportunity for healing and restoration to those who have been hurt by abortion. We share the love of Jesus in a caring non-judgmental environment. Services are free of charge and confidential, and we receive no government funding.
Founded in 1985 by representatives of local churches who received many personal appeals for emergency financial assistance, The Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, or BEAM, was created to provide help in a coordinated way and to prevent duplication of services. Today the community support for BEAM has extended well beyond the faith community to include individuals, businesses, local organizations, and local foundations.
We are a 501(c)(3) community-based organization serving low-income residents living or working in Jacksonville’s beach communities and serve residents of the following zip codes; 32233, 32266, 32250, 32082, 32224, and 32227. We rely heavily on community support to assist our neighbors in times of need. To prevent homelessness, we provide emergency assistance to cover overdue rent and utility payments. To help families struggling with food insecurity, we operate two client-choice food pantries; one in Jacksonville Beach and one in Mayport. Our 6,500 SF “Grace Garden” supports our pantry operation by supplying several tons of fresh organic produce to our pantries each year.
Trinity Rescue Mission’s Emergency Services program starts with a hot meal and a warm bed. We meet the immediate needs of those who come through our front door by offering the essentials – food, shelter, clothes. An open door like this provides stability that can be transformational.
We also understand that each client is unique. One may only want food or a place to stay. Another may want prayer or spiritual encouragement. While another may be ready to radically change their life. We extend the love and grace of Jesus Christ and offer help to each one, no matter where they are on their journey.
To meet the basic needs of our clients, our emergency services include:
- Clothing
- Hygiene Kits
- Community Connections
- Meals
- Shelter
- Showers
- Encouragement and hope
While we provide these emergency services to clients, we offer more than just hospitality. Beyond the basics, we guide our clients to programs, within Trinity Rescue Mission and the community, to help them permanently end the cycle of homelessness.
